First of all, thank you for taking the time to read my blog, including this post!
My name is Julia and I am a student at Central Michigan University, where I am studying German and English. I have always planned on going into Education, but I'm going to see where the next 10 months in Kassel, Germany takes me or inspires me as I am on the career/graduate study path.
I come from a small town in Northern Michigan and have had a long experience with travel, especially to Germany. My first adventure was when I was 16 years old, I was an exchange student with the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange program. During that year I was blessed with 2 amazing host families and an abundance of great friends. Since then I have returned two other times, one for mostly travel (and a little "work") and the other for a study abroad summer session in Berlin. Germany has truly become a second home to me and I can't wait to get back! This time will be a whole new adventure for me, as I will have an apartment of my own. I'm getting the same butterflies of what it felt like to start college all over again!
Back home I have an amazing family, amazing friends, and an amazing boyfriend! They are all so supportive of my upcoming (or existing, depending on when you're reading this) journey and adventure. It is really important to have people who are supporting you, both near and far away! Studying abroad is a lot of work, involves a lot of emotion, and is very challenging at times. Knowing that the difficult times will pass and you'll have success is key to getting through the hard times. Having the support of your friends and family back home can really help you get through those hard times! It's great to have people to call or email to give you a good 'ole Pep Talk, get you refocused and re-excited for your day.
Throughout this blog I will document my different adventures- everything from my day to day life to my travels and experiences during school breaks. I'm really excited to meet new people, try new things, learn, and explore!
Thank you for reading my blog!
